In this article, we’re going to show you how to make manuka and honey butter and how to cook honey in a pan.
The recipe comes from our friend and fellow blogger, Jen of Jen’s Honey.
We hope you enjoy the recipe as much as we do.
Recipe Ingredients: 1 cup of honey or 1 cup manuka beans (we used one for this recipe) 2 tablespoons of olive oil (use more to get a nice, buttery taste) 2 cloves of garlic, minced 1 tablespoon of olive seeds 1 tablespoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons salt 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, to taste Directions: Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat and add the garlic.
Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Add the garlic, olive oil, and the salt.
Let the garlic cook for about 2 minutes, then add the pepper and garlic powder.
Stir to coat the garlic powder, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
Cook the mixture for about 10 minutes, or until the mixture starts to thicken and turns golden brown.
Remove from the heat and transfer to a large bowl.
Add in the olive seeds, garlic, and olive oil.
Add to the mixture, stirring until the garlic has softened.
Taste and add salt to taste.
You’ll want to add more salt as the manuka sauce thickens.
If the manukas aren’t tender enough, add more water or milk.
Serve immediately.
Notes: We added a little more olive oil to the pan for the manaka honey butter.
If you prefer, you can use regular butter, or a low fat butter.
