Trump and Pence have held a first meeting of the new Trump administration to discuss the nuclear deal with Iran.
Trump said the meeting will focus on the nuclear accord with Iran and the future of Iran-aligned terrorist groups.
“We are committed to this deal.
It is an important, critical step in ending Iran’s nuclear weapons program and ensuring that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon,” Trump said in a statement.
The White House press office said the two presidents will be meeting in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
The meeting is a rare meeting of a Trump administration and a vice president.
The two presidents spoke at length about the deal during the White House meeting.
Trump said he hopes to announce soon the details of the agreement.
The new administration will be led by Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The two will meet with top officials from the U.S. Treasury Department, Commerce Department, National Security Council, State Department and the Department of Energy.
The talks are aimed at laying out how the U,S.
can begin a new phase of economic engagement with Iran that will include a reopening of the U of A and a new U. S. Embassy in Tehran, which is not recognized by the Islamic Republic.
The meeting comes on the heels of Trump’s visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
The Trump administration is trying to push the deal through Congress, but is facing opposition from Democrats who fear the deal will open Iran to international sanctions and will harm the U and the U-S.
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump called the Iran nuclear deal “the dumbest deal I’ve ever seen in terms of terms of getting it approved.”
