Honey brown hair is a popular summer dish in Australia, but it’s not the only one that has been made with it.
This week, we are sharing with you a recipe for honey brown honey butter, which is a deliciously creamy honey-brown hair butter.
And this is only the beginning of our honey brown recipes series.
If you’ve never tried honey brown butter, or want to learn more, it’s easy to find it on our honey market guide, and if you want to try it for yourself, it costs $7.50.
Recipe for honey butter Ingredients 2 tablespoons honey (or more if you prefer) 2 teaspoons sugar 2 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg Instructions In a bowl, whisk together the honey, sugar, butter, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg and ground salt.
Add the honey mixture to the butter and whisk until combined.
Pour into a greased 9-inch square pan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring often, until the butter is bubbling, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Notes Honey brown butter comes in two flavours: honey and butter.
Honey is more intense in flavour, while butter is a bit milder and easier to digest.
You can also make it with honey milk, honey butter or butter cream.
For a healthier version, try making this with honey cream or honey butter mixed with a few tablespoons of coconut oil, and you’ll get a lovely, buttery honey.
